We can determine if you qualify for dental implants during a personalized consultation. This allows us to learn your smile goals and thoroughly assess your current state of dental health. With our cone beam CT scanner, we can take detailed 3D images that show all areas of concern using a fraction of the radiation of conventional CT machines. These images help us develop a treatment plan that meets your personal, aesthetic, health, and financial goals. Also key in the planning process are customized surgical guides. Using computer guided implant surgery technology, we are able to place your implants quickly and with great precision at your next visit.

Before we begin your placement procedure, we provide two important services. The first is making you comfortable with our sedation options. We’re certified to administer anesthesia options including IV sedation and general anesthesia in-office to keep you pain-free. After you’re sedated, we can complete preliminary treatments you may need, if any. These may include extractions of diseased teeth and bone grafting to rebuild your jawbone after bone loss. We may also use advanced techniques such as plasma-rich growth factors (PrGF) to assist during the healing process.

Once those treatments are completed (if required at all), we’ll continue with your implant placement. We begin by putting your customized surgical guide (or guides if you need teeth from both arches replaced) over your gums. These guides have holes that precisely align with the areas where we’ll place the implants. Placement consists of inserting screw-like implants from leading manufacturers including BioHorizons®, MIS, and Zimmer into your jawbone through the guide holes. The guides enable us to place them at the exact location, angle, and depth for a comfortable fit that will last. We finish off by putting temporary crowns or, for multiple adjacent teeth, bridges on your implants so you can eat, speak, and smile comfortably while your implant sites heal.

After dental implant placement, your jaws may take three months or more to fully heal. During that time, your implants will permanently fuse with your jawbone. We’ll update your general dentist on your progress—an extra level of service we take pride in providing. Once your healing is complete, you’ll return to your restorative dentist, who’ll remove your provisional restorations and put your final ones in place. Expect sturdy crowns and/or bridges that match the color of your existing teeth for a beautiful, natural-looking smile.
