Pain-Free Tooth Extractions

We use a variety of anesthesia options to end your tooth pain as comfortably as possible. These range from numbing the area to putting you in a sleeplike state where you won’t feel or remember anything about your treatment. Once you’re ready we’ll remove the decayed tooth or teeth by gently pulling them out with forceps. When doing this we take great care to avoid damaging the surrounding gums, tooth socket, and any nearby teeth. We also perform more complex wisdom tooth removal process with equal expertise. Following any extraction, we’ll send you home with specific aftercare instructions to follow.

Tooth Extraction Aftercare and Beyond

After tooth extractions the remaining sockets require special care to heal properly. As a normal part of that process, empty tooth sockets form a blood clot that aids in healing. If a clot fails to form or falls out of the socket, you’re facing a painful complication known as dry socket. The pain of dry socket is due to the fact that the underlying nerves and bone are exposed. To avoid this, strictly follow all of the instructions we give you at the end of your extraction appointment.  We also recommend that you don’t leave any of those sockets empty for too long. Your jawbone needs tooth roots to keep it healthy, and without them it can start to decay. Avoid jawbone recession and fill those unsightly gaps in your smile with dental implants. With these you can eat, speak, laugh, and smile again with complete confidence. Dental implants look and function just like natural teeth, but don’t decay. With a little preplanning, you can even have them placed the same day your extractions are performed!
